Care Information
Sterling Silver
Sterling Silver is an affordable, durable, and tarnish resistant metal composed of 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper. The copper in Sterling Silver is what gives it is hardness and ability to resist tarnish when compared to Fine (100%) Silver. Sterling Silver is waterproof and while wearing it in water won't damage the piece, it may cause the metal to tarnish more quickly. Tarnish is the result of natural oxidation of the metal from being exposed to elements such as moisture, oxygen, or chemicals and will cause the once bright metal to take on a dull or grey appearance. Tarnish is a normal process and can be removed by cleaning or polishing the metal.
